Commonly Used Microsoft Keyboard Shortcuts

Most Microsoft Keyboard shortcuts have become standard in most software that are designed to run on a Windows operating system. MAC-based software usually uses the <insert MAC image here> as an alternative to the Control (CTRL) button.

Most shortcuts can be found on the menu of the software you are using.

Command Shortcut
Create new document from scratch CTRL + N
Open existing document CTRL + O
Help Section activated F1
Copy highlighted text or selected object(s) CTRL + C
Cut (copy and delete) highlighted text or selected object(s) CTRL + X
Paste copied text or or object(s) CTRL + V
Select all text and objects inside document CTRL + A
Save document CTRL + S
Undo what you just edited CTRL + Z
Redo what you have undone CTRL Y
Make highlighted text bold CTRL + B
Italicize highlighted text CTRL + I
Find a word or phrase in the entire document CTRL + F
Search for the word or phrase that you have previously searched F3
Move to the next form item or table cell or link TAB KEY
