- What is The Digital StoryBook?
Digital StoryBook is a collage of photojournalistic shots organized in a very handy Art Leather album. This is an easy-to-carry album that you can bring around with you, while you keep your main photo album in your living room. The two compliment each other. The Digital StoryBook concentrates on the story while your photo album concentrates on portraits.
- I haven't seen the Digital StoryBook being offered by other photographers. Are you the only one who offers this?
As of this writing, yes, I'm the only one offering such product. I personally developed Digital StoryBook after a year of research and series of interviews with various couples. Almost all the couples that I conversed with were looking for non-traditional and photojournalistic shots. They also complain that albums are usually very bulky. They expressed the desire for an album where you can put captions or texts on some pages. Digital StoryBook addresses all these.
- How can I see the proofs of the Digital StoryBook?
All shots are stored in a CD. All files are in JPEG format. You can view the shots through Windows Explorer or in any photo editor software.
- Do you offer video services?
No. We prefer to concentrate on photography as of the moment. This way, we can allocate more time in providnig stylish and creative products that cater to your requirements.
- Can you recommend a video outfit that you're comfortable working with?
Yes, we can recommend so many of them. Our recommendations will vary depending on your budget, output requirements, and most importantly, the quality of customer service. Low-end video services offer simple documentation and oftentimes use analog editing only. Their prices range from P5,000 to P10,000. Middle-level video outfits can provide non-linear editing, with price tags ranging from P20,000 to P45,000. The high-end videographers offer cinema quality videos, with prices ranging from P70,000 to P100,000.
- Do you take the shots yourself?
Yes. During the event, there will be 2 to 3 photographers (including myself) in the team. All the team members are highly skilled and each of them has his/her own specialty.
- You're already booked on our wedding date, will you still be able to accommodate us?
Yes, I take up to two weddings at a time. For your wedding, my wife, Florian will supervise the photographers. The output/quality is the same since they are highly skilled and trained in my style. They also have the same customer service orientation that I do. BTW, Florian also take pictures and she concentrates on B&W.
- How long does it take to deliver the proofs?
Two weeks after the wedding.
- I'm having difficulty selecting the pictures for the albm. Can you assist me?
Yes, actually. When I deliver the proofs, I pre-select the photos according to my taste and perception of the wedding. I initially lay out my pre-selected pictures in a clear book. In this manner, a framework is created and the couple could get some tips on how to select the best pictures. The idea is to create a story of the different events during the wedding, highlighting reactions and excitementing moments on top of the portraits. Of course, the couple still has the final say on what pictures will be included in the album and they can interchange some photos later in the final layout.
- What is an Art Leather album?
Art Leather is a US-based album maker. I use two models of their album. One is Futura album, which I use as the main photo album. The other one is the 20-page 8X10 album that I use for the Digital StoryBook.
- Why is Art Leather so expensive?
It may be expensive compared with other manufacturers, but the quality speaks for itself. It is elegantly finished and has superb craftsmanship. The album is also made of acid-free materials, which is a great help in preventing pictures from fading.
- What is A Taiwan Album?
A Taiwan album is also elegant, presentable, and appears similar to the Art Leather album. Its cover is made of wood instead of leather. In terms of craftsmanship, however, it is slightly inferior to the Art Leather. Despite this, its overall quality is quite acceptable.
- What is the size of the proofs?
All proofs are in 3R size (3" X 5") so you can easily recognize facial reactions and clarity of pictures before it is enlarged for the final wedding album. Another advantage is that the couple can keep the unselected pictures in the slip-in album I will be providing, where they will be able to organize and view them clearly. Surely, you'd want to look at these pictures later on because it has captured the unedited story of your wedding.
- Do you have a studio?
None. However, thanks to advanced technology, most of our communication methods have become web-based and payments are made via bank transfers (for reservation and payments). This is very convenient for our overseas clients who wish to hold their wedding in the Philippines. Besides, maintaining a studio incurs additional expense for me and passing this cost to the client will only make the service expensive. If you still prefer to personally see me, we can set a meeting near your work place. You can also visit us at 9178-D Balagtas St., Guadalupe, Makati City. But please do call first, because I might be out attending a client call.
In case of pictorials, I usually do it outdoors. I can bring all my equipment and go to your place, too. This gives you flexibility and comfort.
- Do you take pre-nuptial shots?
Yes. I normally do it outdoors. There are several nice spots within Metro Manila.
- What is your terms of payment?
I only require Php 5,000 reservation fee. Then 50% payment two months before the wedding date. Another 25% on or before the day itself. The final 25% is upon the delivery of proofs.
- I only have a certain budget, can you customize a package for me?
Yes, but I cannot bring down the price. What I can suggest is that we break down the cost. For example, you may avail of "service only" first. Then I can do the album later when the funds are already available. Or, you may create your own wedding album since you have your negatives anyway. The latter may be a cheaper option, although it might occupy much of your time.
- What differentiates you from other photographers?
The Digital StoryBook marks a clear difference in our services. But in terms of photos, I have my own style of capturing the event and always strive to improve it. My team works with one principle in mind: Capture the moment, in the most creative way, as it happens without disrupting the sacred occasion. My team uses all possible medium, such as Color, Black & White, and Digital, to achieve this.
