UPDATE (October 7, 2007): I sold Hentai Neko in January 2007 after negotiations that began in December 2006. I was just too exhausted trying to run too many sites and though she had the biggest hits amongst all my personal projects, she was the heaviest maintenance-wise. I do think I gave her to good hands, though. ^_^ My farewell note can be found here.
Story:
Probably my biggest online achievement. As ofApril 27,
2003 at 10:41PM, Hentai Neko has 3.5 million hits a month and around
240,000+ of those are unique visitors. (Update for November 9, 2005: 13M hits a month with around 3-4M unique visitors.) Actually, since its birth, I noticed
the kind of traffic it has been attracting, which constantly increases.
Must be the number of perverts in the world, ne? In any case, HN also
happens to be my biggest financial burden, project-wise. You have no idea
how much data transfer HN's traffic is costing me... I mean, gawsh, by
2003 I had to register the domain hentaineko.net so I could divide my
site in half, hoping my expenses would follow suit.
This is actually where I express a lot of my ideas on feminism and sensuality
even though it's supposed to be about adult anime reviews and adult fanworks
(fanfic and fanart). This site also surprises me. I would've thought that
after two years I would grow tired of running it. But here I am, still
watching over it like a mother hen.

Version 1 -
I had a java program rotating the images on the right side. I had to change the layout to V2.0 because V1.0 was only plain HTML. Using server side includes for my pages made it lighter (it got condensed into half of its original size after the revamp).
Version 2 -
Though much much lighter than V1.0's plain HTML, this one was script heavy and it looked pretty nice for more than a year, but bandwidth troubles forced me to downgrade (AGAIN!) to a much simpler site that became version 3. I was hoping I didn't have to simplify this further because I thought this was the simplest I could get. Downgrading it further will result in just a site with all text and no graphics. (Noooooooooooooooooooo!)
V2.0 is actually my favorite version of Hentai Neko.
Version 3: Index | Inner -
Simplified Hentai Neko. This only had one navigation bar that appeared when you click "Site Navigation". It was actually a much darker version of the next design, v.3.5. The reason why I upgraded a bit was because I wasn't satisfied with how Version 3 looked like.
Version 3.5: Index | Inner -
Slightly changed look of version 3. I was asked to design a page for a particular Granulomata.Com shortly after HN v.3 was released, but the owner didn't like the fact that I used female bishoujo game characters on the page. He wanted me to use male characters. I thought it was a shame because I liked what I did for Granulomata more than what I did for Hentai Neko. Since I didn't want to ditch that particular design, I thought I'd convert it from blue (Granulomata's theme) to pink, which has always been HN's colors. But I used it only for the index page, knowing that the inner pages would still have to be much lighter in terms of byte size. A couple of weeks later, I decided to use a more suitable background for the index page (I wanted to have a "candy effect"). But since this background wasn't suitable for th e inner pages, I had to lighten the overall tone of the inner pages. I achieved the "Candy Effect".
Version 3.5 Blue -
This particular version had only been used as a skin for Otaku Board. This was the original blue color (and the original size/resolution) that I created for Granulamata.com. Like I said, I hate ditching my designs so I put them to good use =^.^=
Hentai Neko (dot) Net -
I had to divide this site in two because I wanted to halve the bandwidth. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be having any effect as the traffic keeps getting higher. The inner pages are still exactly the same as in HN.Com. It's only the index page that has changed.
Version 4 (Okashi's Cousin) -
I just thought I'd synchronize the layouts a bit. Also simplify HN so I don't go past the bandwidth and space allocation.
OtakuFridge's Hentai Neko Port - I had to create a portal for the HN following Firesenshi's request not to use her layout for advocating hentai, which she didn't support. This was actually a good move on Firesenshi's part, because I had been wondering how to make the Fridge's market concentrate on the Fridge and not get distracted by hentai banners.
