Hand-pulled noodles at Noodles Everyday

Whenever I hear the words "hand-pulled noodles", a vision of an old Chinese movie martial artist (reminiscent of Bruce Lee) would pop into my head. I only vaguely remember the film (I don't even remember the actor), but the protagonist's practice sessions involved making hand-pulled noodles and pushing his cart.

Anyway, because of this instant image that came into my head upon seeing the restaurant's "Noodles Everyday" sign, my companion and I decided to try them out.

I don't know if you can actually notice it from the photo above, but the noodles varied in width and call me shallow, but I found it fascinating. It was a testament to the manual labor that went into it.

A bowlful of dimsum noodles was a wonderful reprieve from the unforgiving rain. At only a little over P100, you get a meal full of noodles and vegetables. Ironically, I actually regret ordering this because I ate everything but the dimsum. I thought it would be one of those fake-tasting pork dimsum but one bite told me that it was the real thing. For that brief moment, I tasted its authentic pork juices...And I don't eat pork. Hahaha!

My guy ordered braised beef noodles. I'm guessing this is a bestseller because it's oh so satisfying! It doesn't cost too far from the dimsum noodles.

Now if you're thinking that these are expensive bowls of soup, I would have to tell you about the serving size. We both weren't able to finish these because it turned out that a bowl is good for sharing.

What I love about this place is that the flavors are not overpowering even though you can obviously see a lot of spices in these pictures. I'm guessing they're not using MSG and I hope they really are not.

It's a little difficult to find this place if you're not around the Osmeña Highway area, but it's right at the back of the Cityland Makati Executive Towers at the corners of Buendia and Osmeña.
