King's Road Veterinary Clinic, which is owned by our cousin JR. He and Dr. Macenas didn't want to spay her at first because she's so purty! I wanted her to experience having kittens first, but my sister is her primary owner (in my opinion, though, Arya looks up to Kira as her owner/master). Safety first. Arya has already been caught looking for males outside the house.
The spaying procedure was quick and Arya actually recovered quite well. When she woke up an hour later, she felt disoriented and was trying to move her hind legs.
We had to use a cone and a cage to keep her from being overly active or from tampering with the patch.
During this period, we noticed that Kira was being overly sensitive, as if she was the one that just got spayed. When Arya was resting in the cage, she'd make a ruckus. She'd call us and repeatedly lead us to the cage, seemingly asking help for Arya. Kira was so distressed over Arya's weakness and she wasn't happy watching Arya move her hind legs in vain. She'd really cry. If you are familiar with how noisy Siamese cats can get, you'd have an idea how Kira pumped up the guilt volume. The good thing about Kira's motherly nature, though, is that she'd find ways to groom Arya so that probably helped speed up the recovery.
Anyway, for pet owners who are in the South area, you might want to check out King's Road Veterinary Clinic and Pet Supplies.
