I don't know what came over me recently but I just went to the theaters, on my own, and bought a Toy Story 3 ticket. Maybe it was my newfound love for Ed Catmull or the fact that Ken was so hilarious in the trailer.
Surprisingly enough, I actually enjoyed Toy Story 3! I don't know the characters, but I love the visuals, the playful fantasies, the comedy and even the dramatic parts. I probably would not be able to relate to the earlier installations of Toy Story but this one is all about growing up, looking back at your roots, and leaving a legacy. If parents want to look for moral lessons, there are plenty -- both for the young and the young at heart. It also doesn't hurt that the characters look so adorable and cuddly!
Oh and...Buzz Lightyear's Spanish mode was friggin' side-splitting! The downside to watching this alone was that I thought my sides would burst, keeping all that laughter in, because I had no one to laugh with. Gosh.
