Zambales Part 3 - Zoobic

I had a lot of difficulty with my camera here. I so wished for macro lens because there are times when I'm not so lucky and the cage bars can still be seen, no matter how I fix my settings.

Things I saw/did on this trip:
1. Some people really can't read signs. Aside from the "Do not feed the monkeys on the road" sign, which was promptly ignored (we could see that from the pretzel one monkey was holding), they have no qualms violating some of the tigers' personal space. There was one sign that warned people about stretching their hands towards the tigers, but the others just had to ram their phone cams up the white tiger's face. I could see he was barely tolerating them. I took a shot, but I took it from afar.

2. Ok, there was one instance when I was stubborn enough to go to a forbidden area. I wanted to take a shot of the lion's face but I couldn't get rid of the cage bars so I positioned myself in a spot where the lighting was more helpful and where the bars were widely spaced. The shot had to be taken quickly because the lion suddenly faced me and I didn't want to be cat chow.

3. Pretty girl in the Zoobic jeep. Hahahaha! I had to take a picture but sadly, the photo did not do her looks justice.

4. One rodent noticed that I was going to take a picture of him. He was facing the other side of his cage. He went to me and...I think he posed? Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to do the appropriate depth-of-field. There were too many people encroaching my space.

5. Aetas included in the zoo's attraction. W00t??? I was thinking that there's something seriously wrong about it (last I checked Aetas are still humans), but the zoo keepers justified it by saying that this was originally the Aetas' land and they didn't want to drive these people away. I was pretty impressed with the natives' performance, though. They were very agile!

6. The animals look healthy, their coats shiny and bright. That's what I'm thankful for. I saw how badly the animals in Manila Zoo are treated and it's a far cry from this. The lion here actually looks majestic, while the one in Manila Zoo looked like Scar from Disney's The Lion King. The only thing that really annoyed me was that some of the visitors would try to tease the animals...when they had been warned that they shouldn't.

 Yawning boar.

Colorful lizard.

Guess what these are?

7. There are 36 tigers in Zoobic. Too bad I accidentally deleted the one where a group seemed to be in a meeting.

Malanding tiger. Acting like a kitty, rolling all over the floor.

Zambales Part 2 - San Antonio Beach

We didn't know where to go to next so we ended up in San Antonio. The place was really nice and cheap. And I just realized...how un-womanly I am shaped. How much testosterone I have within me, despite my love for bright-hued things. Huhuhuhuhu! But I like this pic my sister took of me. It's so raw. =P

My parents looked forward to a night of Bailey's but they were aghast to find their kids asleep by 8PM. The moment we got into the bed, we couldn't get out. Hehehe!

Breakfast was free. =^.^=

I really should've gotten the name of the resort. It was pretty cheap and the rooms were kawaii desu yo! I love the wood furnishings. That's my brother being the usual kulit he is.

Again, my brother, pretending to be mumu in a closet. That closet was exquisite, though. We appreciated the wood details.

I got bored so I went to the beach and took lots and lots and lots of shots (of the sunset, the waves etc.).  I took some shots of this giant Mama Mary.

...And of my mom and little brother frolicking on the beach.

I thought this was some White Castle Whiskey model. But when she got closer, I realized it was my sister. Sheesh.

I could not resist the kitties. My gosh, that cat mom should be covered by the RH Bill. LOL. She had lots of kitties and is still waiting to pop yet another batch.

The resort dining room.  I must look for this resort again sometime in the near future. Really.

Zambales Part 1 - Subic Ocean Adventure

Ocean Adventure:
1. Goofing around with my family (as always, when we're together)
2. Aquarium for a bit
3. Banyo shots (hehe)
4. International Divers
5. Sea Lion Show
6. Dolphin Show
7. Monkeys on the road...(not part of Ocean Adventure, haha!)

And because I'm too lazy to write about them, I'll just let the pictures (and captions) speak for the experience.

Mom and Tim inside the aquarium.

My favorite banyo shot. In my original photo blog entry, one of the APC students (Reveleen) commented that this is also her favorite banyo. It's clean, smells fresh, and is well ventilated. My sister is the one in green, furiously concealing a zit. My mom is the woman on the right.

Oh, wow. I had so many shots of these international divers as I put my Shin-chan on continuous shooting mode.  One of my commenters said that she found some of the divers hot. Huwat???

The Sea Lion show!  I kind of felt sorry for the sea lion, though. He looked old and tired. I hope they were taking good care of him.

It's frustrating not to have zoom lens but I've taken lots of continuous shots of these beautiful creatures in action.

From the left: my brother, father, sister and mom.  Yes, we are kooky this way.

These monkeys were not part of the Ocean Adventure, but they were so darned entertaining. We weren't supposed to feed them but it seems like there are pasaway people on the road that kept throwing junk food their way.
